v1.1.3
WriterBar 1.1.3
WriterBar can now update itself, and two bugs that could quietly lose your edits are fixed.
New
- Automatic updates. WriterBar checks for new versions on its own and installs them in a click. Settings › General has a Check for Updates control if you'd rather look yourself, and you can turn the automatic check off there. Updates found in the background wait in the menu bar instead of interrupting what you're typing.
Fixed
- Edits now save immediately. Changing an action, snippet, or variable and then quitting — or restarting your Mac — could discard the change. Edits are written to disk as you make them, and anything outstanding is saved when the app quits.
- Sync no longer overwrites newer edits. If a change couldn't reach the server — you were offline, or the app closed too quickly — the next launch replaced it with the older copy from the server. Whichever version is newer now wins, and the newer one is sent up to your other devices.
- The app icon is back to its original artwork. It had been showing a blue-tinted variant that didn't match the icon used inside the app.
Updating from 1.0.0? You'll need to download this one by hand — 1.0.0 shipped before automatic updates existed. Every release after this one can update itself.
